Checked in at the Vigan Plaza Hotel, notified the front desk about the driver and was apologetic to what happened. The structure of the church itself was beautiful. It seemed like its undergoing renovations or was being cleaned. After the sand dunes, went to Paoay church, it was a beautiful church, the grounds was well maintained, not sure about the inside of the church itself. But I tell you, it was fun, we screamed the whole time. It was just an agreement between you two, if you ride and the jeep turns over, you get hurt, then it's just too bad. Only disappointment, rides are not regulated. Who would have thought that the Philippines have sand dunes? I really hope that the area will be environmentally protected. That was fun, we had agreat time, we tried sand boarding. They charged us 1,500 for each 4x4, 4 people in each for a 30 min. Now, I'm impressed with the sand dunes, it was big. So we asked him to take us to the sand dunes, which he did. Anyway, we asked our driver to take us to marcos' mausoleum and he said its already closed, mind you it was around 2:30pm. Lunch at La Preciosa was ok, it was not bad either, I just thought it was just that, lunch.
TERA TRAVEL JOURNAL EMPTY DRIVERS
I've travelled a lot and hired drivers and this was the first time this happened to me. Our driver joined us for lunch without invitation. Went to La Preciosa (we picked it based on the reviews here) for lunch. No clue whatsoever of places of interest. Have asked him a couple of times what the tower was in Laoag, no answer. Our driver was not professional, he had no sign with our name on it, fast driver, did not know the sights. Our arrangement was for the driver to drive to and stop by sights on our way to Vigan. First impression of Ilocos in general, it is clean and roads are good. We were picked from airport by a van/driver arranged by 'Vigan Plaza Hotel' as this was our hotel for the first night. Mind you there was no weather issues going on, I think it is more inefficiency on their part.Needless to say, we landed in Manila after midnight. On the other hand, on our return flight to Manila, scheduled for 6:45pm, flight was delayed for almost 4 hours. It did cause us unnecessary stress as to whether we're getting on or not. It took them last minute to let us all checked in, only to find out once on board that there were still some empty seats on the plane despite all of us having taken our seats. That is not good for us because half of us were on vacation in the Phils.
TERA TRAVEL JOURNAL EMPTY FREE
The supervisor offered all of us a free RT anywhere in the Phils. before flight (morning) only to be told that we may not be able to fly all together and some maybe left behind for a later flight. I am disappointed with the airlines' service. Our trip was arranged by a good friend (travel agent) of mine whose name I will leave off for privacy reasons.Ĥ days/3 nights (middle of the week last week of March 2012) First, we are a family of 8, 1 senior citizen, 2 teens and rest are in our 30s and 40s.
